We Must Remember September 11th

I am a firm believer of the saying “Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” So every year I like to talk about where I was on Sept 11, 2001…

Before I started blogging I used to be a Hair Colorist. I was at working at a salon as assistant and that was the day I was supposed to go take my board to get my license of cosmetology. I went over to the deli next door and I remember the lady behind the counter telling me about a plane hitting one of the twin towers. I was in shock. I think everyone thought it was just a plane crash. No one thought anything about a terrorists attack. We were watching the news thru the window and all you see is another plane come out of no where and hit the second tower. At that point I started to panic. I remembered that my Aunt worked in one of the towers. Then the unthinkable happened. The 1st tower started to crumble to the ground. I started to cry. Then we watched as the second tower went down. My heart was breaking for everyone.

I couldn’t get in touch with anyone. I knew they would cancel my boards test so I told my boss I needed to go home. I got home and just watched the replay’s over and over again. Then I saw a clip of a bunch of people getting on a bus to be taken away from the site and I saw my aunt covered in ashes getting on the bus. I was so relieved. But so many were not that lucky.

Its a horrible thing that happened to the county that day. We will never forget! I want to hear about that day from all of you. Where were you?
