Here was our first attempt at using our SodaStream. Hubby had already filled and chilled the reusable bottle with water and it is already attached to the machine. You have to prime the carbonator until you hear a loud buzz (you’ll know it when you hear it) and then carbonate your beverage to your liking. Once we figured out about the loud buzz (that is in the instructions to listen for), we found the perfect carbonation for us is 3 pushes of the button.
Once you’ve carbonated to your liking, next comes the flavor. There are so many different flavors it was very difficult to choose which I wanted to try first! Our very first flavor was….Energy. The Energy drink taste just like Red Bull, which I love. I have yet to have a flavor that I do not like.
One mistake that we made when pouring in the flavoring, we poured it too fast and we did not tilt the bottle. Needless to say….ours overflowed. But we figured it out and have it to perfection now. Once you’ve added your flavoring, recap the bottle, and mix gently. Your final step to homemade soda or sparkling water…..enjoy!
You may be asking, is this really worth it? My answer, YES! Like I said before, there are so many flavors and ones that you would never imagine drinking as soda (I don’t do sparkling water…YUCK!). One of my favorite flavors is Cranberry Rasberry. The only downside is you’ve got to add an extra 1/2 of a cap full to get a great, full flavor. This is NOT the case with the majority of the flavors! Needless to say, I am in love with my SodaStream.
